Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist Positions,Occupational Health Officer Positions

Reporting to the Regional EHS Manager the EHS Coordinator assists to lead the EHS management system at the regional and site level, is the EHS presence on worksites and at the facilities. Under the direction of the Regional EHS Manager, the coordinator provides guidance to Supervisors/Managers and workers; working cooperatively with all EHS team members, peers and supervisors to promote an EHS culture, enhancing the continuous improvement and pro-active EHS management system.

This position is based in Richmond, BC.

SCOPE:

As directed by the Regional EHS Manager, coordinates and assists with the implementation of all aspects of the Quantum Murray LP EHS program as it applies to the various divisions within QMLP. The Coordinator serves as a liaison for the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committees and worksite locations. This position works collaboratively with front-line supervisors and managers to ensure workers have the necessary knowledge, information and tools to complete assigned tasks in a safe manner. The coordinator may be required to assist and or participate:

Developing and/or delivery of training programs; to assist in coordination or participation in various health and safety meetings, Corporate EHS meetings, conferences and other related activities.

Participating in incident investigations and corrective actions plans.

WorkSafeBC Claims Management and experience with Early, Safe, Stay at work/RTW programs.

Project start-up EHS activities.

Overseeing the compilation, updating and distribution of health and safety related

documentation as required at the assigned worksites and facilities.

Completing regular site inspections and audits assigned as per internal protocol and established schedules.

Managing the daily health and safety activities related to administration and field work.

Making recommendations on revisions to EHS program protocols, Safe Work Procedures etc.

Compiling and maintaining EHS statistics and EHS reports.

QUALIFICATIONS:

?

Post-secondary education in a related discipline preferred or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience.

?

CRSP or equivalent preferred.

?

Construction, Industrial, Transportation and Environmental experience.

?

Knowledge of EHS related legislation, provincial, federal and others as applicable.

?

In-depth knowledge of various training applications such as BBS, risk-based safety, audit protocol, incident investigation methods, in-depth corporate auditing experience, and related environmental protocols preferred.

?

Valid driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract.

?

A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role with supervision/management experience.

?

Leadership and mentoring skills and abilities.

?

Excellent communication, presentation and computer skills.

?

Motivated and driven self-starter able to work with minimal supervision.

?

A team player; collaborative, cooperative with strong relationship building capabilities.

?

Excellent problem solving abilities.

?

Ability to travel regularly. This position may require periods of work outside the lower mainland
