We are seeking an experienced Proposal Manager for our Vancouver office.  

Working closely with the Business Development Managers, the Proposal Manager will assist the Corporate Development team to oversee large proposals at our various branch offices, develop/lead/oversee the proposal coordination team for the entire cycle of responses to Requests for Proposals (RFP's) and associated materials. The Proposal Manager will also assist the Corporate Development team to manage national business development and marketing initiatives.

The ideal candidate is a motivated and results-oriented proposal manager that possesses a background in marketing and the unique ability to create impressive and innovative proposals.

This position is a maternity leave replacement, with the strong potential to move to other business units of the Ledcor Group of Companies after the maternity leave period has ended.  

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate the proposal teams across Canada, specifically for proposals valued at more than $20 Million
  • Ensure proper resources are in place to accommodate proposal needs across all offices
  • Develop, implement and monitor an efficient and effective proposal process; contribute methods to continually improve the process
  • Implement proposal standards and templates
  • Oversee proposal content databases
  • Conduct quality reviews to ensure compliance with RFP requirements and corporate brand
  • Assist with strategy and preparation of presentations
  • Coordinate and prepare large proposal submissions, including P3s
  • Maintain proposal reporting tools to evaluate the status and success of proposal pursuits
  • Project manage semi-annual divisional survey process from start to end
  • Represent division during monthly CRM focus group meeting
  • Communicate user issues to CRM group and manage user licenses
  • Coordinate Business Development department training sessions
  • Prepare and present training follow up commitments and materials for divisional leadership
  • Determine proposal staffing and hiring requirements as needed
  • Provide content for marketing materials
  • Manage various business development initiatives as they arise

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • University Degree in Marketing, Communications or another related field
  • 8 - 10 years of experience in a related role with previous managerial experience and experience managing proposals with contract values of  $20M+
  • 5 years experience with internal and external Corporate Communications
  • Possess detailed knowledge of proposal and marketing procedures, work processes, and tools, along with evidence of past successful management of proposals teams
  • Thorough understanding of effective document and presentation production,
  • Proven analytical, communication, organizational, project management and technical writing skills and abilities
  • Ability to manage a widespread team and provide valuable mentorship
  • Experience working closely with senior management and a track record of delivering on goals
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); graphic experience and an eye for design is an asset
  • Business development experience and support skills are considered an asset
  • Familiarity with commercial real estate, architecture, engineering or construction is an asset
